This is a plot of the electron density configuration evolving in the superlattice structure. The peak representing high density, i.e., where electrons accumulate and the valley where electrons deplete move forward until the end of the superlattice and reappear at the beginning. This recycling of the electron accumulation layer and depletion layer causes current self oscillation.
