Welcome to the Visual Garden where computers and my hobbies of gardening and photography come together.  Within these pages you'll find some of what I think are my best efforts at flower photography; taken both in our Durham, NC garden and elsewhere on our travels.  There are closeups of flowers, general garden views, and tours of some of the best gardens we've visited.

All images are scanned from slides or negatives and compressed in 24-bit color jpeg format.  They will typically look grainy and/or off color on 256 color systems.  Displays showing thousands of colors will work well, but if you have millions of colors available you'll find the images look even better.  You may want to read some details about digitized pictures and various displays. Everything on these pages was done using a Macintosh.
