ABSTRACT:We present progress toward a measurement of the rare decay
using data collected by the CDF Run II experiment from
collisions at the Tevatron at
. With a clean final state of an isolated photon and isolated high energy charged track in mind, we develop an initial set of individual pion, photon and event level selection cuts, where both the pion and photon are radiated into the central detector region. The feasibility of measuring the background through a side band extrapolation method is demonstrated and plans for conducing an absolute background measurement by estimating fake rates are provided.
