ABSTRACT:

The leg-pole factor is an energy dependent phase factor that relates scattering results in two different models of two dimensional string theory. Here we explore the significance of this factor. Using the leg-pole factor, a transform between the matrix and continuum models of the theory is developed. Applications such as the efficient computation of tachyon scattering are also considered.
