Award-Dr. Roxanne Springer
|
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation was established in 1860, following the death of the eminent German scientist and explorer for whom it is named. In 1953 the foundation created the award for senior researchers in the United States as an expression of gratitude for the Marshall Aid Plan that helped Germany recover from World War II This award is granted in recognition of past accomplishments in research
and teaching. It entitles the recipient to stay for a period up to 12 months
at a research institute of the recipient's choice in Germany. The award
is for the promotion of scientific cooperation between research institutions
in Canada, Germany, and the United States. Dr. Mueller plans to use
his award to collaborate with colleagues at the University of Regensburg,
an almost 2000 year old city in Southern Germany.
