The History of Light You Never Knew

The history of physics is curious, and despite great interest and folklore it is full of mistakes. Exploring the history of light from original sources reveals a wonderful tapestry where the high and famous made the big mistakes, and the people you never heard about made the big discoveries. The truth revises the way we think about physics from the beginning level to quantum field theories. By the odd and funny, brilliant and tragic turns of events, we suspect that physicists are probably human after all.

Coffee and cookies before the presentation at 3:15 pm, and refreshments after the presentation will both be served in Room 128.
