My name is George Laskaris, 28 years old and I am from Greece. I am a fifth year graduate student at Duke University, Physics Department.
I did my undergraduate studies (2002–2007) in the National Technical University of Athens, school of Applied Mathematics and Physics, Department of Physics. My research interests until now, has been with High Energy Physics. I was a summer student (2006 Geneva Switzerland) at the experiment ATLAS at CERN and worked for the commissioning and installation of Monitored Drift Tubes (MDTs). After that I was a summer student at DESY (2007 Hamburg Germany) and worked for the Time Projection Chamber (TPC) group which participates in the Intentional Linear Collider (ILC) project. Finally, I received my diploma (2007) upon the completion of my Thesis "Study of the MDTs of the Experiment ATLAS at CERN" (2007 Athens Greece).
In my spare time I like to sail and play soccer. I'm also interested in classical theater and going to the movies.
