Dear Grads:
The Chair asked me to notify our students about this. The goal of the
training program is to provide a brief but in-depth experience with
translational research for basic scientists at early stages of their careers
that may then alter their subsequent career paths.

Richard Palmer, DGS

Professor Rudy Juliano of the UNC Department of Pharmacology is PI on a
small NIH-funded training grant, "Major Challenges in Clinical Medicine: An
Overview for Basic Scientists," and we invite your department's graduate
students and postdocs to consider attending.

This is the fourth iteration of our program; it will run from June 23 to
July 18, 2008. The web-based application can be found at
http://www.med.unc.edu/roadmap/initiatives.htm

Two documents are attached: a description of the program and a publicity poster:
description (MSWORD)
poster (pdf)

We hope you will inform your department about the opportunity.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me or with Professor Juliano
(arjay@med.unc.edu) if you have questions or need more information.

Thank you for your interest.
