**************************************************************** Dear faculty and staff, Duke has a new electronic bulletin board to advertise on-campus research and leadership opportunities, as well as volunteer and on-campus jobs. . All students, faculty, and staff have access; only a net ID is necessary to post a position on DukeList. The Office of Undergraduate Education designed the site in response to a request from student government leaders who wanted a way for undergraduates to find out about research opportunities on campus and to encourage faculty-student interaction. Due to a need expressed by the Office of Student Activities and Facilities, we expanded the scope of this online tool to incorporate leadership and volunteer opportunities that enrich the Duke undergraduate experience. Those of you with part-time student jobs who might otherwise post fliers or rely solely on word-of-mouth advertising are also encouraged to use DukeList. In case you don't know, the Student Service Center has launched a pilot student employment web-based system for jobs in Student Affairs and the Library System. The center hopes to make this available across campus sometime in the 2008-2009 academic year. We'll be working with the Student Service Center, as well as the Community Service Center, to keep you aware of further improvements in ways to promote student engagement. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions for making DukeList more useful.
