Hi Donna,
I am wondering if you can pass along information to Ph.D. students in the
Duke Physics Department about OSA's Congressional Fellowship program via
some kind of departmental newsletter or other graduate student announcement.
Each year, OSA sponsors two Congressional Fellows for a one-year position
working on science policy in the office of a member of Congress or a
congressional committee in Washington, D.C. This program, which is
facilitated by AAAS, is a unique opportunity for physicists who have or will
complete their Ph.D. by Sept. 2008 to become involved in the policymaking
process on Capitol Hill.
We would be thrilled to receive applications from graduates of Duke. In
fact, this year's Arthur H. Guenther Congressional Fellow is Duke Physics
alumnus Audrey Ellerbee. I have attached information/requirements for the
program. The application deadline is January 9, 2008.
Please let me know if you need any other information from me or if you have
other suggestions for how to reach potential applicants.
Thank you!
