PHY 51: Introductory Technical PhysicsCourse DescriptionThe first part of a two-semester course sequence providing a survey of the principles of classical physics, intended principally for students in the physical sciences and engineering. See list of topics given for 41L, 42L. A knowledge of calculus is assumed. Students planning a major in physics should enroll instead in Physics 41L, 42L in their freshman year. Physics 51L is closed to students having credit for Physics 41L or Physics 53L.PrerequisitesMTH 31 or equivalent. For students studying the natural sciences or engineering.
