Physics Research Seminar

Weekly evening seminars lasting approximately two hours; faculty members of the Physics Department present topics of their research or currently interesting subject matter, at the level of entering graduate students.  Students will turn in brief written comments about each research seminar.  Students are also expected to attend the Departmental Colloquia (colloquia schedule).

Time and Location

The seminars will be held from 7:30 - 9:30 PM on Wednesday evenings in Room 298 of the Physics Bulding.  Optional:  Students in the class are invited to have dinner together in Room 298 at 7:00 PM.

Audience and Prerequisites

All entering physics graduate students must attend; other graduate students, undergraduates, as well as faculty and staff are welcome to attend.

Grading

This is a Pass/Fail Course. Students should attend all classes. If you have an emergency and you cannot attend the class you should contact the intructor well in advance. You will get a severe warning if you miss a class without an excuse. A student will fail the course if he/she has more than one unexcused absence from the class.
